The Veterinary Business Consultancy was founded by vet Adrian Pratt in 2016. Based in the South-West of England, but with national reach and clientele.
It’s a small, well connected consultancy with the veterinary profession at it’s heart. With over 20 years of experience within the vet world, the consultancy can offer all round expertise for clinical vets and practices and for companies operating in or wishing to enter the veterinary marketplace too. Our offering is creative, trusted and professional. We’re dedicated to helping your business make a difference to animal health and welfare. After all, good medicine equals good business too!
The Team
Dr Adrian Pratt BVSc MRCVS
Adrian is an experienced business executive, a leader, people manager & veterinarian with an extensive network within the veterinary sector. Six years in small animal clinical practice led to a varied fourteen-year career at Hill’s Pet Nutrition, a Colgate Palmolive company. Most recently he was Customer Development Director for the UK and Irish vet channels, directing the vet channel commercial team of 30 people.

Michelle Nelson RVN
Michelle spent 10 years in clinical practice before joining Hill’s Pet Nutrition as a territory manager. In the next 10 yearsshe progressed to become brand manager for Prescription Diet in the UK and Ireland. She’s also a personal trainer, Les Mills BodyAttack, BodyPump, Grit and CX trainer and holds qualification in managing Diabetes, Obesity and other clinical conditions through exercise and nutiriton.
Michelle’s key skills are
- Wellness Nutrition for your human team or as part of a veterinary activity
- Building exercise in to your daily routine, either on a persoanl level or through the practice
- Marketing programmes for pet wellness or clinical nutrition.
Monty & Jeff
Well known to the local dog walking crowd as Jeffers and Moo, this Border Terrier and Labrador combo bring bags of enthusiasm, lateral thinking and an unfailing ability to know exactly when it’s time for lunch. As stooge dogs for practical exercises or purely because we can’t find a dog sitter, they’ll add valuable insights to any course.
